We represented EnVen in two separate trials arising out of the dispute

We represented Talos Energy Inc. and certain affiliates (formerly EnVen Energy Corporation), an offshore oil exploration and production company, in litigation between EnVen and its co-founder and former president, David M. Dunwoody, Jr. Dunwoody sued EnVen in Harris County Texas District Court in 2019 alleging that EnVen had breached his employment agreement by diminishing his role and reducing his relative equity compensation. EnVen then sued Dunwoody in Delaware Chancery Court alleging that he breached his duty of loyalty by failing to disclose his father鈥檚 financial interest in one of EnVen鈥檚 major suppliers.

Trial in the Texas litigation concluded in July 2021 with Dunwoody succeeding on two of his three theories of liability and appeals exhausted. In the Delaware litigation, EnVen successfully defended against Dunwoody鈥檚 renewed motion to dismiss and a request to file a partial motion for summary judgment. Trial concluded in July 2023 with a favorable resolution prior to a ruling on EnVen鈥檚 claims.
