麻豆入口 Chief Pro Bono Counsel Amy Starr discussed the Supreme Court decision in United States v. Rahimi with Law360. The court upheld a federal law that bars anyone subject to a domestic-violence restraining order from possessing a gun by a vote of 8-1.

The decision provides some guidance to lower courts on how to apply the court鈥檚 test established in New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen, which held that courts should uphold gun restrictions only when the government demonstrates that 鈥渢he regulation is consistent with this Nation鈥檚 historical tradition of firearm regulation.鈥

Amy noted that the decision in United States v. Rahimi 鈥渄oes help the lower courts to apply Bruen, but there are plenty of questions left unanswered.鈥
